Our company was founded in 1996 when Overton Burns retired from a 20 year career with the Social Security Administration in order to become an advocate for disabled individuals in our community.  Over the years, our office has successfully advocated for thousands of clients and we have the knowledge and experience to help you obtain the benefits you are entitled to!

MICHAEL LAURENT CO OWNER

Michael has over 30 years of practical Social Security and Disability related experience. Mike has an excellent record of superior representation of clients at every level in the claims process

DAVID BUELTEMANN CO-OWNER

David is an expert in Social Security disability matters with more than 30 years experience in representation and management of disability claims. He has successfully represented thousands of individuals in every state, at every level of the administrative process. David has a strong commitment to personalized customer service.

Jean Smith -- Staff Advocate/Office Manager/Technical Adviser

Mrs Smith worked for the Social Security Administration field office from 1968 through 2003 and has been on staff with Overton Burns Disability Consulting since early 2006.  She is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of Social Security law and has a passion for serving the public.  

Heather McCarty -- Case File Development

Ms McCarty has been on staff since 2013.  She is diligent at ensuring the medical portion of all claims are thoroughly developed in order for us to present your case before the Administrative Law Judge.  She also is able to assist individuals with filing initial disability claims via the SSA online application process.
