Burns Disability Advocacy was founded in 1996 when Overton Burns retired from a 20-year career with the Social Security Administration to become an advocate for disabled individuals in our community. Over the years, our office has successfully advocated for thousands of clients. We have the knowledge and experience to help you obtain the benefits you are entitled!

MICHAEL LAURENT -- Co-Owner

Michael has over 30 years of practical Social Security and Disability related experience. Mike has an excellent record of superior representation of clients at every level in the claims process

DAVID BUELTEMANN -- Co-Owner

David is an expert in Social Security disability matters with more than 30 years experience in representation and management of disability claims. He has successfully represented thousands of individuals in every state, at every level of the administrative process. David has a strong commitment to personalized customer service.

HEATHER McCARTY -- Office Manager

Ms. McCarty has been on staff since 2013.  She is diligent at ensuring the medical portion of all claims are thoroughly developed in order for us to present your case before the Administrative Law Judge.  She also is able to assist individuals with filing initial disability claims via the SSA online application process.

Sadia Midkiff

Sadia joined the Burns Disability in January 2020. She enjoys reading, crocheting, and crafts. Sadia says the best part of the job is talking to and encouraging clients.
